Day 10: Ladies of Faith

Day 10: Ladies of Faith

Today I had a very pleasant visit from three ladies who prayed wonderful prayers of healing over me.  One of them, Mommy Baby, is a parent of a fellow Youth Alive in the 90s (Youth Alive is the youth ministry I was very active in all my 4 high school years).  The other 2 are close family friends, Sister Juanita & her daughter.  Their presence was a wonderful reminder on the necessity of being in a positive support network in the healing journey.  Books and experience have truly emphasized its importance.  I am also blessed that this Village is really providing a serene haven conducive to rest and healing…God knows that I am a very slow learner when it comes to practicing life-restoring rest.  So as I sit here under the droopy white fabric ceiling of Salo Pavillion and enjoying the peace along with birds tweeting, I am grateful for this time to rest before the joyful chaos of home welcomes me in a couple hours.

Hello & Hafa Adai!

My name is Mia and this is my journey to be healed from cancer.  I am 33 and a non-smoker diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in late December 2009 because it has spread to my brain.  I was about to also do a bone survey & CT scan of my abdomen, but decided against it after researching that doing more scans could actually contribute to cancer spreading more.  I especially decided this having just gone through 5 or more scans in a span of less than 2 weeks.

On this site, I will be writing about my experience to pursue being cancer free while prioritizing alternative cancer treatments.  I am encouraged to hear and read stories about people who have found and used their cancer cure, and I hope that I will become one of them.  Family and friends have also contacted us about how they can help, and one in particular, Diana Learned, started the concept more than 2 months ago of having a site which will also provide a means to make donations for anyone able to do so.  We are heeding her wonderful suggestion and we thank all of you for your love, support, and prayers as I go through this healing season.

(Note: This site is very new and in progress, but we’ll start updating more soon.)
