Perseverance in healing

I know it has been a while I’ve posted.  I went back home for a month and just returned here in Manila almost two weeks ago.  At home, I had very little assistance so doing self-administered treatments while managing my home & kids were quite challenging.  Now back in Manila, my youngest son couldn’t come because his passport needed to be renewed.  So I’m here with my eldest & my sister who came at my request, but she’s only here til next week – we have enjoyed having her & she is a blessing. The March/April 21-Day Treatment Details

This is the details of the 21-day treatment I completed from March 15–April 4.  Based on my rough estimate, I was able to complete 85% of the diet and herbs, and 70% of the treatments.  I was unable to comply with it a 100% either due to my body’s reaction/need for rest or lack of desire/will.

DIET:

Ø      Diet A:

o       fresh vegetable juice every 30 mins 12 glasses per day

o       soup or blended meals Continued…

The Way-Truth-Life is Beautiful

I’m happy to say that this first day of the week has been spent quite well!  I had a good, restful sleep (so vital in healing!) and spent the first waking hours looking online for a church to attend here in Makati.  I was actually dreading the decision of where to go to church since I really don’t know any church in the area and sometimes I don’t particularly enjoy the common newcomer ritual of standing up and having to introduce myself (since I’ve been doing it almost on a weekly basis) – if a friend in the crowd can do a quick intro, that would be my preferred mode of introduction.  Anyhoot, thank God for google!  I actually found 3 churches within a bus/taxi ride away.  We decided to attend the LifeChurch Makati, part of www.LifeChurch.tv,  since it’s their last “preview” church service before their launch as an official church on May 16th at which time I’ll be back on Guam. The 4th Navarro Urine Test

Praise the Lord that my result showed a 1 point drop in the cancer marker test.  With this new information, I continue to pray for God’s wisdom on what I should do during this last month that I plan on staying here in Philippines.  I am praying Jesus will lead me to the right people and resources that will enable me to continue in the path of total healing.

I was hoping that I would have dropped 2 points or more, but I guess there is virtue in learning to wait and continue the hard work of getting healthy.  Thank you to all of you who continue to inspire me and others with your stories of faith, love, and hope.

Day 21: Resurrection Day!!!

It is almost 8pm this Resurrection Day.  Praise God for such a wonderful day indeed.  This morning while doing one of my treatments before heading off to church, I asked Nurse T to read the Resurrection account from Luke.  What a great way to start off the day.  I’m blessed to have an energetic nurse who enjoys reading aloud since I don’t seem too keen on reading aloud for some time now (overworked from reading aloud to my own kids maybe?  If so, how sad for meL).

We went to church for the second time at the International Christian Fellowship of Tagaytay held at Taal Vista Hotel.  It was Tita Belen’s first time and she really enjoyed the contemporary style.  We sang great familiar songs like…

  • Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate!
  • He is Mighty To Save (Hillsong)
  • Here I am To Worship

Day 16: An Easier Day

I’m in the living room while my sons are playing full blast with all sorts of creative construction-type play, a true favorite. Thank the Lord for an easier day. I was quite grumpy yesterday…it could possibly be coz it’s the first day of that time of the month.

I’m grateful that everything went pretty smoothly today – such a blessing for a day when everything’s going “my” way…even if that includes getting a daily injection of laetrile. I’m so over that and I still don’t enjoy the pain that occurs during the procedure. Thankfully, I do eventually forget about it. I could get the shot done on my hand which requires 1 poke every three days. Unfortunately, my detox reactions greatly discourage it as I may experience chills for a whole day. Since I’m slightly feeling better, I may give it a try some time this week & pray that I won’t have the likely chills.

A great highlight today was when Nurse T read “Feeling Like God” aloud while I was undergoing some treatments. We were really enjoying all the great new things we were learning about God & people, especially in terms of discipleship. The book is so deep and intense that it’s hard to go past 1 or 2 chapters without starting to feel bloated…in other words, we had better take time to reflect and put into practice what we read before filling ourselves up with more excellent knowledge. It’s a challenge so that’s why I seem to end up reading it only once a week – it’s pretty overwhelming.

Here’s a very little bite size from the magnitude of insight I’m gaining for Continued…

Day 13: Still Slowing Down

I thank God immensely for all of you and your prayers and words of encouragement.  Forgive me that I’m unable to address you individually most of the time.  I try to keep my online communications at minimum to not drain myself of the precious little energy I have, so I usually only get to email Gil.

Yesterday, Doc visited me and the time of consultation and prayer was what I needed indeed!  He explained that the liquid diet I am on really minimizes my energy level & patients who are on the diet pretty much just sleep, eat, and do treatments.  He also said that this is “my” program so the program adjusts to me, not the other way around.  Sigh of relief!  Continued…

Day 10: Ladies of Faith

Day 10: Ladies of Faith

Today I had a very pleasant visit from three ladies who prayed wonderful prayers of healing over me.  One of them, Mommy Baby, is a parent of a fellow Youth Alive in the 90s (Youth Alive is the youth ministry I was very active in all my 4 high school years).  The other 2 are close family friends, Sister Juanita & her daughter.  Their presence was a wonderful reminder on the necessity of being in a positive support network in the healing journey.  Books and experience have truly emphasized its importance.  I am also blessed that this Village is really providing a serene haven conducive to rest and healing…God knows that I am a very slow learner when it comes to practicing life-restoring rest.  So as I sit here under the droopy white fabric ceiling of Salo Pavillion and enjoying the peace along with birds tweeting, I am grateful for this time to rest before the joyful chaos of home welcomes me in a couple hours.

Mia’s email to the family…

Hi Friends,

Mia is still in treatment and although she does have internet access she is minimizing her contact with the “outside” world.  Anyway below is an email she sent out to the family about 2 weeks ago and so as to get to know what she’s thinking and doing I thought (with Mia’s permission of course) of posting this here.

It’s a little long and intense but this is what it’s like in reality.

thanks again for your support – gil/admin

P.S. I’ve changed some names for privacy reasons.

Mia is in treatment

Hi everyone this is Gil, Mia’s husband.

Mia is currently at the Nurture Spa Village (They are taking good care of her there.  She does feel nurtured.)  in Tagaytay receiving treatment and is going through something called a healing crisis.  But other than that she is doing OK for now.  We thank you to those who are supporting us financially and spiritually.

Mia will respond as soon as she is able on her own (very relaxed) time table.  She should be back at her Tagaytay residence sometime early next week.

Thank you again. – g
